CHEERS! WHAT TO DRINK THIS WEEKEND — THE WHITE NEGRONI
Every Friday, the editors of Love& share what they will be imbibing over the weekend. From fancy-schmancy seasonal specialties to the easiest cocktail hacks, we’ve got you covered.
If James Bond were from the Continent, we suspect his drink of choice would have been a Negroni. It’s a sophisticated and sexy classic equally at appropriate to drink on a yacht, at the bar of a swanky casino, or on a bearskin rug in front of a blazing fireplace. The traditional version uses Campari but when you feel like something a smidgen less syrupy and bitter, try this floral, citrusy clear version—shaken, not stirred.
(makes two drinks)
3 ounces London Dry gin
2 ounces Cocchi Americano
2 ounces Dolin Blanc Vermouth
Lemon twists
Prepare a small coupe glass or tumbler by rubbing the rim with lemon peel to express the oils. Shake ingredients with plenty of ice in a cocktail shaker or Mason jar. Strain into tumbler over rocks or straight up into coupe—dealer’s choice.
