Fall for this autumn cocktail the day before Halloween.
With the ubiquity of pumpkin beers on the shelves today, this cocktail is a breeze to whip up. Use a bolder pumpkin beer such as Shipyard Smashed Pumpkin or Blue Moon Pumpkin Ale. Use a Rye Whiskey for the spiciness. The best part is you can use the rest of the beer as a chaser. (Or make 2 more cocktails!)
4 oz Pumpkin Ale
2 oz Rye (such as Templeton)
2 oz Spiced Rum
1 oz Real Maple Syrup
1 Egg White
Cinnamon for Garnish
Combine the first four ingredients in a shaker and stir. Add the egg white and dry shake (without ice) vigorously. Add ice, then shake again for 30 seconds.
Pour into a highball glass with ice. Add a cinnamon stick or sprinkle with cinnamon and serve.
